I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment
is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father
which hath sent me. - John 5:30 (KJV).
By myself I can do nothing. Just like Jesus, we cannot do anything on our own.
Isaiah 64:6 tells us that our righteous, our works, are as filthy rags.
As a kid, whenever something appeared to difficult, I would say "I can't."
My Mom would counter with, "Can't never could do anything."
However, over the years, I learned that "I can't, but You can, Lord" is the best phrase to use when approaching God.
You are essentially saying, "This is too big for me to handle, but I know You are big enough to handle it, Lord."
When we surrender our problems to Him and let not our hearts be
troubled over it (John 14:27), we will see God work miracles on our
behalf We will see the salvation of the Lord (Exodus 14:13).
