Article Writing
It is important to title your article correctly so that you leave no doubt with your user or the search engines exactly what your article is about. If you are going to write an article you should prepare the article first by using the tips I gave you in the finding a good niche article. Specifically from that article you should use the keyphrase research tips to carefully choose the right title for your article. After you have decided on the correct title you can then form an article around the keyphrase. Plan your article carefully and you will spend less time actually writing the article than if you just sit down and start typing.
Planning your article is simply doing a quick outline of your introduction, 3 or 4 main points you want to get across, and then a conclusion. Doing a short outline keeps the article on track and will help you to remember all of the points you want to touch on. This may sound like an extra step that isn’t necessary but from experience I guarantee the best articles that get the most traffic are well planned and structured. And traffic is the name of the game after all. Article writing is an art that you will get better and better at as time goes along, but if you are anything like me your articles will never be perfect. I don’t write for perfection I write for content, I want to give my visitors one place to go for all of the information they are going to need to be successful.
After you have found a good title for your article you need to make sure to use the exact title in your article a few times. This is a tricky little balancing game that you need to learn. If your article is 500 words long you should probably use the exact title about three times. If your article is longer than that you should use the exact title proportionately more times. You need to be careful not to use it too many times or the search engines will believe the article to be spam. But you need to use it enough times that the search engines know exactly what you article is about, so that they can rank your article for that keyphrase. My experience with article writing also tells me that MSN ranks articles that use the keyphrase more times higher. Again it is a balancing act that you will need to play around to get right.
Then of course you need to rewrite the article 3 or 4 more times and use the tips from using free resources to get links back to your article. I know article marketing takes a lot of effort and time but the eventual end results are well worth the upfront effort. Believe it or not there will eventually come a time when you no longer need to write the same article 4 or 5 times, but that is a good ways down the road, so get used to it for now. Don’t forget to use good HTML linking practices to link back to your article using your article title as the anchor text. You know I never said article writing would be easy, so instead of reading this or some other tell you how to do it site or ebook go do it. The most important thing with any website is that you actually do it. The last thing you want is to look back on your experience with running your own website and have regrets about what you didn’t do. If you don’t know how to do something then ask but don’t let it hold you back from doing anything at all. Stop thinking about it and go write something.
