An overview of the St. Louis Rams off season and thir pending #2 draft pick coming up.
The Rams are an interesting story from last year. The sky was the limit in the beginning of the year. Steven Jackson was coming into his own. marc Bulger was poised to have a great year behind center. I somewhat felt some of the pain of the Rams fans as Bulger nearly singlehandedly destroyed one of my fantasy teams as he was a disaster. Jackson also was a big dissapointment as the Rams faltered to 3-13 last year. But another reason the NFL is such a great sport in comparison to the other "major" sports is that there is no lottery and there is always parity. So these Rams will get the #2 pick in this draft, a pretty high pick for a team with this much talent. I'm not a big fan of their coach Scott Linehan but to be fair the Rams were tainted with injuries all year so it is tough to place too much blame on him. Most mock draft websites are predicting the Rams will shore up their defense with their #2 pick either taking Glenn Dorsey DT out of LSU, or if he's already taken then Chris Long. Chris is Howie's son who's a defensive end coming out of Virginia. Both players would make an impact on the D line right away and will improve the Rams next year. I won't go as far as to say they will be making the playoffs next year but I think a 9-7 season is easily attainable and hopefully this offense has a better year next year as they seem to have the talent but just need to stay healthy and put it all together.
