As you may have seen John Edwards has 'suspended' his race to win the Democratic nomination to be President. This merely means he has dropped out of the race but still retains rights to his handful of delegates. You never know, but possibly if its real close between Obama and Hillary, those delegates might be important. Its very unlikely its that close but you never know. I was hoping for an Edwards endorsement of Barack Obama today but it appears he has been speaking to both candidates to make sure his message of helping the poor of this country lives on with the winner of the Democratic Primaries. Hearing news of Edwards talking to the Clinton camp scares me somewhat. Anyone watching the debates knows that Edwards has gone after Hillary for accepting PAC money, something Edwards refused to do. Accepting PAC money means basically Hillary is in bed with corporate America and Big Business as they are the backbone of funding for her campaign. The fact that he has not chosen someone to endorse makes me think he is negotiating for something. Perhaps VP, or perhaps Attorney General, hard to say. Edwards has denied wanting the Vice Presidency however two days ago he said he was in this for the long haul so it seems anything is possible. And despite how similar Obama's and Edward's views are I fear a possible "sell out moment" if Edwards goes to the darkside andendorses Clinton. If he were to do so I believe that would be all she would need to guarantee a victory over Obama which I think could be quite catastrophic for the Democratic Party as I don't believe she can beat McCain (not to mention Bloomberg who might jump into the race if Hillary is involved). I don't think McCain would be as bad as Bush but I don't think he could work with a Democratic controlled Congress to fix our economic woes. So I hope John Edwards reads this (and he just might as after Nevada I wrote an article telling him to drop out of the race, coincedence?), I hope he heeds my advice and endorses Barack Obama before Super Tuesday and hopefully this all ends with the best man (oops, I mean person) for the job inside the White House. We shall see.
